In the interest of transparency, we would like to make our customers aware of this possibility, and to describe the measures that we may take in order to resolve the situation for you.

Unfortunately, many online merchants take no responsibility if a customer’s order should chance to be seized by customs. After you pay for your merchandise and it leaves their warehouse, what happens to your parcel in transit is no longer their concern. In other words, you lose your purchase price.

If your parcel is seized at customs, whether in transit through Chinese customs, or as it arrives at the customs office in your country, we will work with you to find a solution that does not involve you losing your purchase price.

In general, there are three alternatives that we can offer to resolve the issue, depending on the individual situation:

1.       In our experience, various types of parcels are selected for scrutiny on a rotating basis, so that parcels containing clothing might be selected one day, while parcels containing jewelry or glassware might be selected another day. And of course, this varies from country to country. In the event that your original purchase is seized in one of these random examinations, we will offer the option of having an identical replacement of your purchase reshipped with a new tracking number at no additional cost to you.

2.       If, however, we notice that the customs officials in certain countries are repeatedly seizing parcels shipped by us, we will cease shipping to that country for a period of time. In that event, we will offer you a full refund of your purchase price. Of course, you can always select to have the item reshipped by another method (DHL, for instance) but in that case, you will be charged for any additional shipping costs incurred.

3.       We understand that some purchases, such as birthday or other special occasion gifts are time-sensitive. If your original shipment is seized by customs, and the time it takes to reship your items will mean that the gift will arrive too late, we are happy to provide you with a full refund if you prefer.
